Atra-Hasis
A Mesopotamian epic. Lesser gods refuse hard labor, and humans are made from clay and the blood of a slain god to take the work.

A modern reading maps gods to extraterrestrials, labor to a designed workforce, and clay and blood to earthly material plus alien DNA. Those are readings. The poem does not mention DNA, spacecraft, or gold mines.
