Epstein-Barr virus
A real human herpesvirus (HHV-4). It causes mononucleosis and is an established cause of several cancers. A 2022 Science paper strongly associates it with multiple sclerosis.

William calls it the thyroid virus and says it explains over 95 percent of thyroid disease, with four stages and more than sixty strains. That wider map is his teaching. Conventional thyroidology still treats Hashimoto’s as autoimmune thyroiditis. Both sentences can be on the same page if they are labelled.
