Kali Yuga

The last of the four yugas, named for decline. In the Purāṇas it begins about 3102 BCE and lasts 432,000 years. Sri Yukteswar rereads it as 1,200 years, with a low point around 499 CE.

Two clocks share a name. Traditional Kali is still running. On Yukteswar’s 24,000-year clock, Kali has already ended and we are in ascending Dwapara. This site keeps both answers labelled.
