Robert Schoch
Geologist. He argues that rain weathered the Sphinx enclosure and that the monument’s core is older than Khafre. A solar interruption of an earlier culture is a separate claim.
His chronology has moved. The early public argument was before about 5000 BCE. Later writing pushes the core body toward the end of the Ice Age and treats the head as a recarving. Other geologists explain the same limestone without that date. Seismic contrasts under the Sphinx are not a demonstrated archive. He judges the main formation at Yonaguni to be predominantly natural.
