Robert Bauval
Writer. The Orion Mystery, with Adrian Gilbert, argues that the three Giza pyramids map the belt of Orion and that the shafts express a stellar afterlife. With Graham Hancock, Keeper of Genesis places a symbolic “First Time” near 10,500 BCE. Black Genesis, with Thomas Brophy, looks for an older African background to that astronomy.
A proposed match to a star group is a claim about design. It does not date the masonry to the sky it is said to remember. He has also disputed Andrew Collins’s identification of the same sky with Cygnus.

Giza as a map of Orion, and a sacred geography that points back to an earlier First Time rather than only to the Fourth Dynasty.
The Great Pyramid’s ground date remains Khufu, Fourth Dynasty, third millennium BCE. A stellar symbol can be intentional and still be later than the sky it refers to.
