Public-health nutrition
Adequacy, balance, moderation, diversity. At least 400 g of fruit and vegetables a day after age ten. Fat as an essential nutrient. Free sugars under 10 percent of energy. Salt under 5 g. A diet must also be safe — free from harmful microbial and chemical contamination.
Environment
Fifty-fold growth in global chemical production, 1950–2000. Ongoing mixture exposure, including PFAS and bisphenol A, with some older pollutants reduced by law. EFSA: contaminants in food; PFAS TWI 4.4 ng/kg/week for four compounds; May 2026 pesticide-residue report, consumer risk low for the foods tested.
Cleanses
No compelling research that detox diets eliminate toxins. Juicing can reduce calories; it has not been shown to empty tissues of metals. Harms exist.

Epstein-Barr, the medical file
EBV causes mono and several cancers. Bjornevik and colleagues (2022) showed a strong association with multiple sclerosis. That association is not William’s wider map, and it is not nothing.
