Precession

Earth’s axis traces a slow circle against the stars, so the equinox drifts through the zodiac. One full turn takes about 25,772 years on the current astronomical model.

The traditional round figure is 25,920 years, which is 72 years per degree times 360 degrees, and that round figure, not the measured one, is what later readings use. Ra’s Law of One speaks of three cycles of about 25,000 years making a 75,000-year master cycle. Hamlet’s Mill (1969) argued that myths encode precessional numbers, and Hancock built on it. Grant makes 72 the key to all time numbers. The measured value is a decimal that fits none of the clean schemes exactly, which is the usual relationship between the sky and the numbers people find in it.
