The Holotope: a human artwork used as a visual attention

The Holotope is a geometric artwork and a lighting practice, made by a person and used with eyes open. A drawing of a higher-dimensional figure is not an entry into that dimension.

In an official explanatory clip, Kirby Seid credits a human inventor and describes layered geometry, a fractal ground, changing coloured light, and sometimes sound. The piece is used at events as an eyes-open meditation. Presentations sometimes connect the drawing with a projection associated with the Lie group E8 and with Bashar’s one-particle picture of reality. The spoken mathematics is imprecise in places. Beauty and a diagram do not establish a model of atomic physics, and they do not show that a viewer has changed physical dimension.

What the clip actually asks of the eyes

Seid recommends looking toward the centre and softening the gaze so that peripheral vision stays in the experience. The stated reason is to include ordinary waking awareness rather than to treat thinking as an enemy. That is a description of a perceptual artwork. It is not a promise of what a viewer must see, and the sitting itself stays with the publisher’s materials.

Some presentations strobe. People who are sensitive to flashing light, including photosensitive epilepsy or flash-triggered migraine, should not use a strobing version. A still image is the cautious alternative. Discomfort is a reason to stop. That is a visual precaution, not a treatment and not a claim about rewiring a brain.

A practitioner’s routine is not the instruction

Enthusiasts’ accounts of pairing the image with other exercises show how some people practise. They do not turn a proposed neurological or dimensional effect into a result. One often-circulated bedtime routine is a commentator’s own sequence, not an original Bashar instruction.
